Plate to prep time: 40 min
Servings: 4

Materials

  • 3/4 lbs Ground Beef
  • 1 medium Green Bell Pepper
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 1 can Tomato Sauce (24 oz)

Protocol

  1. PREP: Cut the bell pepper and onions into thin strips. Mince the garlic
  2. Heat 1 Tbsp of olive oil over medium heat in a large pan. This is unnecessary if the ground beef is less than 90% lean
  3. Place the ground beef in the pan and season with the basil and 2 tsp pepper
  4. Add the garlic and cook while breaking up the ground beef until about half of the meat still remains pink
  5. Add the peppers and onions, continuing to break up the meat and mixing the vegetables in
  6. When the meat is no longer pink, pour in the sauce and stir to mix evenly. Continue heating until it just starts to bubble. Turn off the heat and serve over prepared pasta
